Corinthian-Casuals Beach Soccer Side
The Corinthian-Casuals Beach Soccer side are a National League winning team who are made up of several England internationals.
The team play in the famous chocolate and pink shirts with National League fixtures and cup tournaments throughout the summer. Corinthians are made up of all players eligible for the England national Beach Soccer side. They won the National League, defeating Portsmouth 6-2 to clinch the title and qualified for the Euro Winners Cup in Portugal before Covid halted all competition. Having the England side play domestically as Corinthian-Casuals uniquely mirrors the famous feat of the 1890s, where the senior national team consisted entirely of Corinthians on more than one occasion. Casuals include players such as Aaron Clarke, an Arsenal FC coach who’s scored 130 goals in 122 international appearances, and Ben Bowra, former Corinthian-Casuals defender who starred in the club's tour to Brazil, playing against SC Corinthians Paulista. Hanna Newton, Honorary Secretary for Corinthian-Casuals commented on the addition of the Beach Soccer side, "It's a fantastic style of football and we hope to see lots of club support at the various tournaments through each summer." |
