Casuals second game in Wales saw them face Llangefni Town, based on the island of Anglesey and recently relegated from the League of Wales. Casuals looked slightly jaded at the start playing their second game in less than 24 hours, and having had a long journey the previous day to also deal with, and it was just as well that manager Brian Adamson decided to pack the defence by playing a lone striker up front.
Llangefni started well and Kevin Roberts had the first chance for the Welsh team after five minutes, in what was a very scrappy opening. On 14 minutes Russell Banyard was on hand to clear Chris Evans effort off the line as Llangefni continued to press.
The game settled down and Casuals began to show their potential as the half progressed and should have taken the lead when Ryan Hughes cross/shot fizzed across the face of the goal and Dave Taylor just could not reach it in time. Moments later Paul Smith held an impressive 25 yard effort by Richard Harris to keep the score goal-less. Llangefni's best chance of the half came on 34 minutes when Jason Harvey forced Smith into a wonderful reflex save.
Brian Adamson made six changes at half-time and this sparked the Casuals into more life and it paid off after 65 minutes when Jason Hanif threaded the ball through to Mark Towse who rolled the ball to the right of Paul Whitfield to open Casuals account.
Casuals though could not hang on and five minutes later Kevin Lloyd struck a 40 yard wonder goal that the stranded Colin Harris could do little about. Casuals still could have snatched it and Jason Hanif blazed over after being put through, whilst the home side almost grabbed a late winner when Chris Evans's pile-driver was pushed away from the top corner by Harris's spectacular save.
