The scoreline was deceiving in that the only difference between the two sides was Godalming were more potent in front of goal. Godalming scored twice in a first half largely devoid of goal mouth action. First Kenny Ojukwu headed home on 29 minutes, before seven minutes later Andy Ottley ran through unhindered to register the second.
Casuals started brightly in the second half and the introduction of Eric Kwakye certainly kept the Godalming defence on their toes. Kwayke's tricky run on 46 minutes almost led to a Casuals opener, but for a good save by Rodney Chiweshe. He went close two more times, but Godalming held firm.
With 20 minutes remaining Carlos Talbot was carried off, but this did not upset the Casuals rhythem as they continued to try and get back into the game. In injury time Glen Stanley finally exploited the difference in numbers to score Town's third.
