We were playing a top of the able side, AFC Wimbledon. We started off a little bit cautionary, and then AFC Wimbledon opened up their account in the fifteenth minute. Corinthian-Casuals then settled down and started playing some good football, and were rewarded in the 40th minute with a goal from Aaron Mackenzie.
Corinthian-Casuals kept pressing until half time, and were rewarded with a further goal by Matthew Adbeye, making the score 2-1 to us at half time. Unheard of against AFC Wimbledon!
AFC Wimbledon came out fighting in the second half, and Corinthian-Casuals were unable to match them. AFC Wimbledon managed to score two very quick successive goals, bringing the score to 2-3. Corinthian-Casuals then changed tactics to try and manage an equaliser, but unfortunately AFC Wimbledon scored a late goal, and became the winners 2-4.
On reflection of the overall performance of a very young Corinthian-Casuals side, playing a very much older, experienced AFC Wimbledon side, and taking the positives into account, this young Corinthian-Casuals team will possibly be a 'team of the future' to be proud of.
