Played in sunny but blustery conditions Casuals controlled the first half of this match against their opponents from the Combined Counties League Premier Division. After an early scare when Bookham hit the crossbar, Casuals, gradually took charge and the visitors strike force made little impact on a well marshalled home defence. Luke Edghill had a fine opportunity to give Casuals the lead on 26 minutes, but his shot rebounded off the crossbar and with the home side spurning a number of other scoring chances, half-time arrived with the match still goal-less.
The Casuals team for the second half showed eight changes with Brian Adamson trying out more of his squad, and after only four minutes Bookham took advantage of more uncertainty in the home defence to take the lead. Casuals hit back strongly and several further chances went begging before Dan Jackson scored a deserved equaliser on 55 minutes with a fine shot from 15 yards. The writing appeared to be on the wall for Bookham when Jackson scored his second 73 minutes, but another lapse by the Casuals defence allowed the visitors to equalise almost immediately. Both sides continued to press forward, but Luke Edghill appeared to have won the match for Casuals with a firmly struck shot ten minutes from time. Finally from the re-start, however, the Bookham forwards again wrong footed the Casuals defence to score another equaliser.
