Fabulous news! We’ve smashed our target of £10,000 from our Covid-19 fundraiser and we honestly couldn’t have done it without your generosity and love. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Of course, we’re pushing on to generate as much as we can as the costs of running the club are stacking up without income coming into the club. We can’t wait to get back to playing football and being a hub for our community to get together and enjoy themselves once again.

What's taken us by surprise is the wonderful comments that have been left by many of you who've donated. It's truly humbling to read so many well-wishes from across the globe. This is what it means to be part of such a wonderful and historic football club. Below, we've collated the comments that you've left for us on the official Crowdfunding campaign. There's still time to donate and leave a comment as it ends on the 29th June. We'll update this news piece with any new comments after this date.

We'd also like to personally thank those who've left us donations offline - Barry Kitchener, Micky & Sheila Stewart, Judy Shedden and David Harrison who've all given so generously. Also to Sport England for their grant that was made available to all sports clubs in these uncertain times. Lastly, to Freddie and Clyde Goddard who's sponsored walk raised over £1,000 towards helping us out. Thank you... Obrigado... from all of us.

Brother's In Football filmmaker Chris Watney also received a wonderful message of support from Harriet O'Grady - who's great uncle, Cecil Holden-White was the Corinthians first ever official captain!  Cecil played throughout the 1880s for us and his two caps for England came in Englands first ever Home Championship victory of 1888, with a 5-0 win over Wales and a 5-1 win over Scotland - Englands first ever competitive victory over the Scots. Harriet writes;

"I am very proud that a member of my family is associated with such an illustrious and mythical club. I love the unconventional aspect of the club, that it has remained amateur, that it upheld and still upholds wonderful ideals of fair play and sportsmanship and that those ideas have been taken abroad to inspire other clubs. The Brazilian experience is a case in point. And what an experience! I wanted to find the right words to convey how much I enjoyed [the film]. But more than that I feel it is a true work of art and is a masterpiece. I feel sure that you will win all sorts of prizes for your amazing piece of work and you certainly deserve to.

"I cried when I watched it. Those ideals of amateur sportsmanship despite no money have been kept alive at Corinthian-Casuals. Every person involved in the club is a true gentleman in that old wonderful sense of the word and deserves to be celebrated as such. I so admire everyone's dedication and hard work in keeping the spirit of Corinthians alive."

For all those who’ve requested a ‘reward’ for your donation, then we’ll be in contact again once we’re able to fulfil these requests. We’ve had loads of names for the Wall of Fame and hopefully it won’t be long before you can visit and see your name displayed in the clubhouse. For those who’ve asked for matchball sponsorship, matchday mascots, etc, we’ll be in touch once we know how the fixtures pan out for the 20-21 season.  As soon as we’re able to, we’ll also get the personalised signed team photos done and made available.

If you know anyone who'd like to donate and leave us a kind comment (as well as a host of rewards), visit our Crowdfunder here.

Once again, thank you and Vai Corinthians.

I had several enjoyable years playing for the Vets/ School's side, in the mid 70's. One memorable game was playing against the England public schools side, with Micky Stewart playing behind me and Alex Stewart in front of me. Always support the Christmas draw and actually won this year ! I'm 72 now, so stopped playing some time ago. I'm delighted to support the club in this small way.

Fantastic  Freddie's  Casual  Walk

21/6/2020

Picture
Young Corinthian-Casuals fan Freddie Goddard completed his sponsored walk from his home in Crawley to Reigate Priory School on Sunday in aid of his favourite club, Corinthian-Casuals.

Along with his father, Clyde, 10 year-old Freddie embarked on the 12 mile journey taking them around 5 hours to complete. His efforts were in aid of the Casuals who have been looking to bring vital income into the club throughout these uncertain times.

Wanting to reach the target of £250, to earn himself the ‘Matchday Sponsor’ reward on the official Crowdfunder campaign, Freddie smashed his goal with £868 raised so far.

To greet him at the finish line was Manager James Bracken and club Captain Danny Bracken along with the club Chairman, Committee members and supporters who gave the youngster a welcome applause. Both Brackens presented Freddie with a signed copy of The Community Brain’s brilliant Broadway to Brazil book.

Freddie’s contribution, along with everyone that’s donated to the club in this past month is gratefully received and the lengths that fans will go to help fund us is truly humbling.
You can add to Freddie’s donation page here – or via our official Crowdfunder.

Corinthian-Casuals Football Club are set to host a charity auction and raffle at King George’s Arena, Tolworth on the evening of Friday 11th October.

The event, which starts at 7pm is to raise money for one of the club’s charity partners, CALM – the Campaign Against Living Miserably.

The evening will feature both a raffle and live auction with over 35 lots and prizes to be won. Donations from Premier League football clubs are on offer including a fantastic hospitality package at Tottenham Hotspur’s brand new state-of-the-art White Hart Lane stadium. There’s also a range of sporting memorabilia, an evening watching Surrey in the Vitality Blast and golf packages across a range of prestigious clubs.

And guests could be lucky in obtaining one of 35+ prizes which includes awesome experiences such as a tour of the Kia Oval, Chessington World of Adventures tickets, crazy golf, paint-balling and afternoon tea. For a full list of auction lots and raffle prizes, please see below.

Entry on the night is £5 and you’ll be greeted with a drink and canapes on arrival. The venue is Corinthian-Casuals clubhouse, Hook Rise South, Tolworth Surrey KT6 7NA, with ample parking for all.

CALM, who’s patron is Professor Green – the rapper who lost his father to suicide, is leading a movement against the single biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK. They run a free confidential and anonymous helpline as well as a webchat service for anyone who is struggling or in crisis. They answer around 200 calls and webchats daily. The demand for the CALM helpline has grown by 56% year on year with the charity helping to prevent 675 suicides in 2018 alone. Without vital fundraising and donations, they wouldn’t be able to keep up their vital work. All proceeds from the event will be donated to CALM.

If you’d like to donate prizes or auction lots ahead of the evening, or for any other information, please contact Sinead Kerner on 07821 551848.

Casuals & K's Come Together at Christmas for Charity

9/12/2018

Picture
Corinthian-Casuals and Kingstonian Football Clubs are coming together on the 22nd December for a festive party in aid of two very worthy local causes.

The Bostik League Premier Division fixture sees the borough’s two highest-ranked senior non-league sides meet. The afternoon will be in celebration of supporting football in Kingston-Upon-Thames as well as uniting the community for worthwhile charities just before Christmas.

The two clubs have each selected a borough-based charity to support; Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness (KCAH) and Kingston Carers Network (KCN).

We’re asking anyone who attends to give generously for these causes.

KCAH – who provide help to the homeless have requested vital food and clothing donations. Anyone attending the match who can bring item(s) from the following list will receive a delicious mince pie and entry into a prize draw as a thank you.

  • Pot Noodles
  • Tea / Coffee / Sugar
  • Used men's coats / jackets
  • New or clean 'used' sleeping bags but must be in their sleeves
  • New or used rucksacks (ideally 60L so a sleeping bag can comfortably fit)
  • New men's 'trunks' underwear (Size M or L)
  • New socks

Further fundraising events will help support KCN – Kingstonian’s local community partners who are based in Tolworth Broadway. They provide support to more than 3,000 adult carers and over 700 young carers from the Kingston Borough through a wide range of services.

The afternoon will be a celebration of local sport and supplemented with a variety of food and stalls, for those last minute Christmas gift ideas. Following the match, there will be a fan’s ‘crossbar challenge’ and guests will be invited to the ‘after party’ at the Corinthian-Casuals Clubhouse with food, drinks and music in a festive family atmosphere.

Gates open at 1pm and kickoff for the match is 3pm. Admission is £10 adults, £6 concessions (Over 60’s). Students, with valid ID can enter for £4 and Under 18s, with accompanying adult are FREE.

King George’s Arena is located along Hook Rise South, Tolworth just 10 minutes’ walk from the Broadway. Postcode is KT6 7NA.

You can visit KCAH and KCN’s websites to learn more about these worthy local charities.
