Casuals ended Burgess Hill Town’s seven match unbeaten run with a strong display. On 12 minutes Glenn Boosey picked up a loose ball in midfield and hit a dipping thirty yarder just under the cross bar for the opener. Burgess Hill hit back with a free kick curling just round the post.
Scott Hassell had a shot easily saved and Julien Owusu-Bekoe screwed a chance wide. Corinthian-Casuals were making better chances and Carlton Murray-Price forced the keeper to save well after a great turn and run. Just as half-time was approaching Owusu-Bekoe shot well wide when through, but made up for this when he latched onto a header and slotted past the keeper.
The second half started with an early chance for Murray-Price who fired well over after breaking through. The match then turned into an even affair with speculative long range shots by both teams. Burgess Hill had a goal disallowed for a push on a defender.
Kane Sergeant drilled home Casuals third in the 80th minute after a fine flowing three man move. Town fought back and minutes later substitute John Lansdale scored tapping in after Luke Naughton could only push a save into his path.
Burgess Hill midfielder Leo Day was carried off on a stretcher after a high tackle by Scott Hassell, which saw him red carded. Town ended the stronger and had a few chances to narrow the score, but took none. Kane Sergeant had on late chance missing from a good position, but Casuals had done enough by now to claim the points.
