![]() Following an announcement from the Department of Culture, Media and Sport in conjunction with the FA, Corinthian-Casuals will be unable to admit supporters of Dulwich Hamlet to King George’s Arena for the FA Cup 2nd Round Qualifying fixture on Saturday 3rd October. As the coronavirus is clearly clever enough to differentiate between supporters of Step 2 and 3 clubs, in their wisdom, supporters of National League clubs – which include Dulwich Hamlet – are banned from spectating. We have held back on the sale of tickets for the time being but will unfortunately have to limit these to Corinthian-Casuals and neutral supporters only. Please do not purchase tickets if you are a supporter of Dulwich Hamlet F.C. as both clubs have to adhere to these rules (we cannot believe we’ve had to type that). We’d like to place on record that as a club, we are not in favour of this utterly baffling ruling, we believe it is wholly unnecessary and we are having to put in place these restrictions under duress.

Corinthian-Casuals are delighted to announce the continuation of our strong partnership with TRS Worldwide, set to continue for a further two years.
Total Retail Solutions (TRS) will once again be Casuals' headline sponsor and see their logo emblazoned on both iconic playing shirts as well as a strong presence across the football club. Based in London but with sites across the globe, TRS manufactures and supplies an innovative and expansive range of bespoke support materials, such as packaging and labelling to the retail and fashion industries. Despite the challenges of the global pandemic, TRS have gone from strength to strength, building a resilient business in these most testing of times. That’s reconfirmed by their enthusiastic commitment to providing support to Casuals for a further two seasons. Managing Director Matt Westwood spoke of the new deal "We’re delighted to extend our support to Corinthian-Casuals. We like to forge long-term partnerships and believe it’s vital in both business and life to do so. To support a highly ambitious club who’s history and tradition is unparalleled is truly rewarding and exciting for us.” Corinthian-Casuals spokesperson, Stuart Tree added “It’s a great pleasure to have Matt, Barry and all at TRS Worldwide back on board. It was a real shame when the previous season ended prematurely and we felt bad for all our sponsors. We’re going to be working even closer to bring bigger and better exposure for both the club and TRS in the coming years with some brilliant projects in the pipeline. It’s definitely an exciting time.” You can find out more about TRS Worldwide by visiting their website here. Merstham vs Corinthian-Casuals
Pitching In Isthmian League Premier Division Tuesday 29th September 2020 - 7.45pm The Whisky Bible Stadium, Moatside. The last attempt at playing at Merstham’s Whisky Bible Stadium saw the majority of supporters already in the ground when the referee made an 11th hour postponement. Hopefully, the same won’t occur this time, barring a deluge of rain between now and 7.45pm on Tuesday 29th September. That fixture looked to be a pivotal six pointer between two sides flirting with relegation. Casuals were in rich form leading up to the tie and Merstham had also picked up a few handy points, but found themselves in the drop zone. With the season null and void, Merstham survived the drop and continue to play Isthmian Premier football for their sixth year. Though Frank Wilson’s side haven’t had the grandest of starts. Two defeats in the league – to Hornchurch and a late Billy Bricknell goal against Enfield – were coupled with an FA Cup exit to AFC Dunstable, bowing out on penalties. Wilson has a number of his ex-Tooting squad once again but is bolstered in midfield by AFC Wimbledon loanee, Elliott Bolton. Omar Folkes is the likely threat, scoring against the Casuals in the 1-0 loss to the Moatsiders at the beginning of last season. Casuals come into this game on the back of two wins and brimming with confidence. But have yet to register a win at Moatside for many a year. Merstham are undoubtedly a bogey side for Corinth and James Bracken will be delighted to remove that monkey off his back as he did with Potters Bar on Saturday – another side Casuals hadn’t beaten for many years. Admission is £10 adults, £6 concessions (over 60s, students, disabled), £3 under 16s. There’s no pre-online purchasing – it’ll all be done at the gate. Merstham are encouraging fans to download the NHS Track and Trace app before entering the ground. The bar, located just outside of the turnstiles will be open. It’s not a long trip to Merstham, just off the M25 near Redhill. Your postcode for the SatNav is RH1 3QB. We hope you can join us on our travels once again in this important Isthmian League Premier fixture. Potters Bar Town versus Corinthian-Casuals
Saturday 26th September 2020 – 3pm Pitching In Isthmian League Premier Division The LA Construction Stadium, Potters Bar, EN6 1QN Saturday sees Corinthian-Casuals travel round the M25 to face Potters Bar Town in the Pitching In Isthmian League Premier Division. Manager James Bracken will be looking to rectify the 3-1 loss at the newly names LA Construction Stadium last year when winger Ben Cheklit had to don the goalkeeper gloves following a 5th minute injury to Ibrahim Ugradar. Bracken believes the first league win isn’t far away after a convincing 3-0 win at Little Common in the FA Cup on Tuesday night. "I ask for at least an hour of dominant play at Potters Bar on Saturday and within that hour, score more goals than they can in their remaining 30 minute spell. That’s what I’m aiming for. If we can replicate that against teams in our division and take our chances, then we set ourselves up to win games." History is not favourable to Casuals though as the last four encounters have produced two draws and two defeats. When the season was halted in March, the Scholars sat in 13th position, 15 points better off that Corinth. Remarkably, they had a better away record than playing at home which will give encouragement to Bracken. Potters Bar started off this season with a 3-0 loss at Carshalton Athletic but progressed in the FA Cup with a solid 1-0 win over another Isthmian Premier side, East Thurrock on Tuesday – Ben Ward Cochrane with their only goal so far this season. Admission is £12 adults, £8 concessions and under-16s for a quid. They have the NHS track and trace system implemented and you can find out about it here. Postcode for your SatNav is EN6 1QN and if travelling by train, the nearest station is Potters Bar, just a ten minute walk away. The Good Beer Guide recommends the Cask & Stillage pub in the High Street for pre/post match drinks. For those not making the journey, you can listen to live commentary courtesy of Potters Bar Radio. FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round Tuesday 22nd September 2020 - 7.45pm The Oval, Eastbourne BN22 7LN It’s a little later than usual but we’re delighted to welcome the return of the FA Cup for Casuals as we travel to the Sussex coast to begin our campaign against Little Common. Manager James Bracken will be hoping to go at least one better than last season’s 3rd Qualifying Round where we bowed out to King’s Langley after defeating Sevenoaks Town and Chelmsford City in the previous rounds. Bracken will draw upon memories of that ‘cupset’ where we defeated the National League South side 2-0 last season (pictured above). It’ll be a reminder that lower league teams can easily turn over loftier opponents as Little Common will undoubtedly attempt on Tuesday night. In fact, Bracken will not be taking it lightly. “It’s the FA Cup. The FA Cup! I’d be an absolute fool if I didn’t say that this could be a banana skin of a tie. Little Common will be up for it. “They’ve already won a couple of games to get to this stage and we’ll expect the best of them. We’ve played a number of sides at that level in pre-season and they were good. They were sides with confidence, could create chances and score goals. I’m sure Little Common will be no different.” Indeed, Common have already won in two rounds of the Cup. Coming in at the very first stage, they defeated Uckfield Town 1-0 and followed it up with a 3-2 victory over Stansfeld. This will be an entirely different test for Russell Eldridge’s side though. ‘The Green Lane Boys’ play two levels lower than Casuals in the Southern Combination League Premier Division. They share with Eastbourne United AFC and play at The Oval, Channel View Rd, Eastbourne, BN22 7LN. They suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday with a 4-0 loss to Fisher in the FA Vase. However, they’re unbeaten in the league with three draws from three matches. Entry for the match is £7 adults, £4 concessions and U16s £2. Please join us in what we hope will be the start of another exciting cup run. Corinthian-Casuals vs Haringey Borough
Pitching In Isthmian League Premier Division Saturday 19th September - 3pm kickoff King George's Arena, Tolworth KT6 7NA £11 adults/£6 Conc, Students/ U18 Free Saturday, we welcome Haringey Borough to King George’s for the season opener in the Pitching In Isthmian League Premier Division. Early season indicators of form are hard to gauge. Pre-season results never really tell us anything substantial. If results are anything to go by, then Haringey Borough are in for a tough time. But friendlies are a different beast. Results include a 2-0 loss to Sutton, a 3-1 defeat to Hanwell Town, a 2-1 loss to Kings Langley and a 2-0 loss to QPR Under 23s. They did however draw with Aldershot and beat New Salamis 1-0, though their opposition are somewhat lower than Isthmian Premier standard. The majority of Tom Loizou’s squad have re-signed for another season at Coles Park and that’s an indicator of how well they might perform. They’re never to be underestimated. Although they didn’t hit the heady heights of the playoff places as per the season before last, they were in fifteenth position when the league campaign was voided in March. Casuals will take heart in the fact that they struggled away – picking up just three wins in fifteen attempts. James Bracken’s pre-season has been ‘mixed’ in his own words. They rounded off their preparations with a convincing 3-0 win over Staines Town this week and only lost to FA Vase semi finalists Corinthian and League One AFC Wimbledon, who in fairness, fielded an almost full strength side. Last season, we also opened up against Haringey, losing 1-0 at a blustery Coles Park in August. The last time the two sides met at King George’s saw Casuals take a 3-1 win. This is also Corinth’s first opening day home fixture since 2016, in which we won 2-1 against Whyteleafe, which bodes well considering that we’d lost all opening day fixtures on the road ever since. Kick-off is 3pm. Admission prices are £11 adults, £6 concessions and students (with ID) and under 18s go free with an accompanying adult. Please adhere to our social distancing measures and all other Covid-related policies. GVC is delighted to announce that the new sponsor of the Isthmian, Northern Premier, and Southern Leagues - is Pitching In. Pitching In, is a new Grassroots Sports Investment Programme that has today been launched by GVC, the multi-national sports-betting and gaming group which owns Ladbrokes and Coral. The partnership covers all three leagues that make up Steps 3 & 4 of the National Leagues System, who market themselves collectively as the Trident Leagues. England footballing legend Stuart Pearce, who played for Wealdstone FC for five years at the start of his long and illustrious career, has been appointed as the official Pitching In ambassador. Stuart Pearce, ambassador for the Pitching In programme, says: “I am delighted to be taking up the role of ambassador for Pitching In, as I’m passionate about the importance of investing in grassroots sports and in developing young talent. I started out playing for Wealdstone FC before joining Coventry City so I understand how important funding is to the non-league game. Grassroots football is facing huge challenges at the moment and many clubs are struggling to stay afloat. GVC’s Pitching In investment will help make a big difference to hundreds of clubs and thousands of players across the country.” Pitching In has been set up with the objective of supporting, protecting and encouraging grassroots sports in the UK through a range of initiatives. In addition to financial support, a key focus of the partnership will be to facilitate and encourage members of the community to become volunteers, and do some pitching in of their own. A Pitching In volunteering scheme will be established to link GVC’s Ladbrokes and Coral shop colleagues with their local clubs. In the weeks ahead Pitching In and the Trident Leagues will be announcing further initiatives to provide financial support and opportunities for all the 226 clubs (rising to 240 in 2021). |
