Corinthian-Casuals has a history with penalties in the beautiful game but on this occasion the football club is very proud to support the new charity campaign, "It's a Penalty", run by British based charity Happy Child International. At Tuesday's launch in London, Club Secretary Gary Weir together with Chris Watney attended the event where Gary Lineker spoke of the need to get involved and raise awareness before the World Cup about the sexual exploitation of children. With Gary Lineker, Frank Lampard, Alan Shearer, David Luiz, Oscar and Ramires all involved, we encourage everyone to spread the word. The club will announce "It's a Penalty" as match sponsor for an upcoming fixture soon. As Corinthian-Casuals has great following in Brazil Club Secretary Gary Weir sees a real opportunity to help spread the message to fans both in England and Brazil. "Corinthian-Casuals is unique not just in Non-league but throughout the football league too. Our online following from Brazilians on Facebook makes us the 25th most followed club in England on this platform", commented Gary. He continues, "We have an unrivalled reach due to our historic link with Corinthians Paulista and immediately identified the need to support Happy Child's "It's a Penalty" campaign to raise awareness". Chris Watney, current squad player and Co-Founder of Red Barrel Productions, was also present and was influential in bringing the club and charity together. Chris has identified opportunities to raise further awareness of the "It's a penalty" campaign as he continues his work on Vai Corinthians - The Film which will see the club tour São Paulo in May.
