Return leg v Eintracht Frankfurt

On Saturday 22nd Feb we hosted the return leg at Goals Tolworth v Eintracht Frankfurt Walking Football whom we visited in May 2024. The by now traditional pre-match dinner was held on Friday evening at the Antelope in Surbiton with both teams in attendance.
Big shout out the The Antelope staff for the great food and keeping the beers and ciders flowing.


The return match took place Saturday at noon at Goals Tolworth. With the result almost secondary, Casuals won 9:1, the spirit was the most important part. After the match, every Frankfurt player was presented with a Corinthian-Casuals scarf as a momento of the occasion. For the next Frankfurt match v Leverkusen, one scarf was proudly worn in the Waldstadion (see picture below)

Unfortunately our plan to take the Frankfurt guys to see Casuals v Alton did not work out as the weather gods had different ideas. The pitch at the Armada Group Stadium was certainly not in any danger of being used for a football match. That didn’t stop us taking our guests for a tour of the clubhouse and we opened the Megastore, so they had the opportunity to buy Casuals merchandise.


Both teams enjoyed the games and journeys so much, that we agreed to make this an annual event. Next up is a Casuals trip to Frankfurt in 2026 to which we are all looking forward to.


As this was something that brought together 2 clubs I hold very dear, I felt it right to donate a cup to be played for. Long may this tradition continue and be enjoyed by players from both clubs and countries.
