Substitute Uzun scored his third goal of the season in the 87th minute ensuring Casuals got back to winning ways after crashing out of the FA Cup just two days before.
And Manager James Bracken praised his squad for pulling themselves together and getting back to winning ways. The result leaves Casuals third in the league table.
“It was a good performance today; back to a clean sheet and what we were doing before. We’ve gone at it a slightly different way today with slightly different personnel. Some of that was enforced; we had fourteen players unavailable today through injury or other reasons. Not many clubs can come here with fourteen out and still get a win.
“Molesey have been doing well and had a couple of big wins so to shut them out, nick a goal and win it means it’s been a good day.
“Josh’s goal was superb. You know with Josh (Uzun), that if he gets a chance – and let’s be honest, that wasn’t even a half chance, he’ll take it. It was a fantastic run and header and I don’t know how often anyone could score from that. It was a great goal.
“We set up today to make sure we were competitive. I thought on Saturday (in the 3-1 loss to Pagham) the second ball kept slipping in between gaps and we weren’t really picking up on them enough. So we went with a system which meant we were able to get the second ball. It put us in the game more. I knew we’d create chances, it was a case of keeping Molesey out though. We’ve defended fantastically and everyone has put a bit in.
“When you win all the time, you sometimes take that for granted, and I’m probably just as guilty of that. When you have a couple of defeats and then you get the win, you enjoy it just that little bit more.
“You don’t want to be going three or four defeats in a row. You want to nip that in the bud as early as possible. It’s nice that we’ve only had one day off since the last defeat so we could get back to winning ways as soon as possible.”
